CONTINUOUS PACKAGING CYCLE
Roll film is formed, filled and sealed in one automated vertical process.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
How VFFS Packaging Machines Work
A vertical form fill seal (VFFS) machine is an automated packaging system that forms bags from rollstock film, doses the product, and seals each pack in one continuous vertical process.
Film travels over a forming collar, wraps around the forming tube, receives a measured product dose, and is then sealed and cut into individual packs. The forming, dosing and sealing configuration is selected around the product and finished package requirements.
-
Film Unwinding
Rollstock film is guided through the machine under controlled tension.
-
Bag Forming
The forming collar shapes the flat film around the vertical forming tube.
-
Product Dosing
A matched weighing or dosing system delivers granules, powders, liquids or pastes.
-
Sealing & Cutting
Vertical and horizontal seals close the pack before it is cut and discharged.

TECHNICAL FAQ
BUYER QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Vertical Form Fill Seal Machine FAQs
Practical answers about project cost, filling accuracy, film trials, line integration, installation requirements and after-sales support.
What is the difference between a vertical form fill seal machine and a premade pouch packing machine?
A vertical form fill seal machine forms each bag from rollstock film before filling and sealing it. A premade pouch packing machine receives finished pouches, opens them, fills them and seals the top. The suitable route depends on packaging material, required pouch features, output and presentation.
Explore Premade Pouch Packing Machines →How much does a vertical form fill seal packaging machine cost?
Cost depends on the machine platform, bag dimensions, target output, dosing system, film handling, coding and inspection equipment, conveyors and the required level of automation. An accurate quotation is prepared after the product, pack format and complete project scope have been reviewed.
What filling accuracy can a vertical form fill seal packaging line achieve?
Filling accuracy is determined mainly by the selected dosing system, product consistency, bulk density, target fill weight or volume and operating conditions. Multihead weighers, volumetric dosers, auger fillers and pumps provide different accuracy characteristics, so the expected tolerance is confirmed for the actual product and dosing route.
Can my product and packaging film be tested before shipment?
Yes. Product and packaging-film trials can be arranged before shipment to verify product feeding, dosing, bag forming, film tracking and sealing performance. Customers should provide sufficient product samples, roll film and the required pack specifications before the test.
Can the machine run recyclable or mono-material packaging film?
Potential compatibility must be evaluated with the actual film structure. Recyclable and mono-material films can behave differently during tension control, forming and heat sealing. Film samples should therefore be tested to confirm tracking stability, sealing window and finished-package quality before the final configuration is approved.
How is a bag-size or product changeover completed?
Changeover requirements depend on what is changing. A new bag width may require another forming set, while bag length, film roll, sealing settings and dosing parameters may also need adjustment. The required tooling and changeover procedure are identified for the confirmed product and package range.
Can the machine connect with existing production-line equipment?
Integration can be planned with suitable feeding systems, conveyors, date coders, checkweighers, metal detectors and other upstream or downstream equipment. Interface signals, working height, product flow, line speed and layout are reviewed for the specific project before the final line design is confirmed.
What factory space, electrical supply and compressed air are required?
Utility and installation requirements depend on the selected machine, dosing system and complete-line configuration. A full technical data sheet is provided for the confirmed project, including machine dimensions, electrical requirements, compressed-air requirements and other relevant installation information.
What is included in a complete machine quotation?
The quotation scope is prepared for the specific packaging project. After reviewing the product, bag format, target output and production requirements, we recommend a suitable combination of packaging machine, dosing equipment, feeding system, conveyors and optional functions. The proposal clearly identifies included equipment and project-specific options.
What warranty, spare-parts and after-sales support are available?
The machine is covered by a 12-month warranty from the date it is received. A one-year spare-parts package is supplied according to the confirmed machine configuration. Remote technical support is available, and paid on-site installation and commissioning services can be arranged when required.
